Glendora, CA (Women's Soccer) -- The Citrus College Women's Soccer team hosted Victor Valley College on Friday afternoon, and it wasn't just the triple digit temperatures on the field that were hot. The Owls scorched the field with six goals in a 6-1 victory.

Sophomore Julia Wills got the ball rolling in the 7th minute with a goal off an assist from freshman Leandra Escobar. Less than six minutes later Wills got another score when sophomore Jade Vehawn drew a penalty in the box for the Owls. Wills stepped up to the ball on the penalty kick and buried it making it 2-0.

The fun continued ten minutes later when the Owls drew another penalty kick. This time sophomore Jasmine Williams, who drew the penalty, stepped to the ball, but her shot was saved. Sophomore Gabby Virgen made a heads up play though and followed through on the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net to make it 3-0.

Victor Valley would get on the board shortly into the second half when freshman goal keeper Leslie Grande misplayed the ball on a clear, but the Owls answered quickly when Escobar notched her second goal of the year off an assist from Williams in the 62nd minute.

Five minutes later freshman Sheyla Sanchez also got her second of the year when freshman Valerie Flores shared the ball with her. Sophomore Jade Vehawn wrapped it all up in the 71st minute when she scored from 30 yards out to make it 6-0.

With the win, Citrus improves to 3-0-2 on the year. The Owls will have one game next week when they travel to Oxnard College to take on the Condors. First touch is set for 4:00 PM on Tuesday.
