Glendora, CA - Citrus College sophomore defender Ivana Lizama is headed to NCAA DIII George Fox University. Lizama becomes the third Owl to accept an offer from a four-year university off the 2015 Citrus College Women's Soccer team.

As a freshman Lizama appeared in 21 of 22 contests, recording 10 starts. Lizama, who took over a starting role in the back line for the Owls towards the end of the conference season, scored one goal. As a sophomore Lizama started all 20 games in which she appeared, scoring another goal for the Owls and helping guide them to their third post-season appearance in the last four seasons. Lizama was also a two-time Citrus College Scholar Baller selection as a student-athlete who carries a GPA of at least 3.0.

"Their academic record is strong, and it provides me a chance to continue to work towards my degree in kinesiology," Lizama said of George Fox. "It's a great chance to keep playing soccer, and it feels like a good fit for me."

"Citrus has provided me with an opportunity to showcase my abilities with soccer," Lizama said. "It's also proven to me that if you work hard and dedicate yourself to pursuing your passions that it will open doors."

"We are excited for Ivana to have this opportunity to continue her playing career while pursuing her degree," said Head Citrus College Women's Soccer Coach Tim Tracey. "We know that the tenacity she displayed on the field and her hard work in the classroom will carry over to the next level."
