No. 9-ranked Citrus College and Antelope Valley College battled with the Marauders coming out on top with a 1-0 victory to move into the top spot of the Western State Conference-South standings

The Owls drop to 11-3-0 overall and 5-2-0 in the WSC-South. The Marauders improve to 9-3-2 on the year and 6-0-1 in conference.

Jayme Beatty gave the Owls a chance in the 13th minute, forcing the AVC goalkeeper to make one of three saves.

Samantha Casas also put a shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the two teams went into halftime with a scoreless draw.

The Marauders broke through in the 79th minute and held on for the 1-0 victory.

Citrus remains at home, hosting West LA on Friday at 3 p.m.
