After two consecutive losses, No. 9-ranked Citrus College got back to its winning ways with gusto, grabbing a 5-1 victory over West LA.

The Owls improved to 12-3-0 on the year and 6-2-0 in Western State Conference-South action. The Wildcats dropped to 1-12-2 overall and 1-7-0 in conference.

West LA capitalized first but it struck a cord as Citrus exploded for five unanswered goals.

Abigail Salvador got the scoring going in the 18th minute off an Ashley Virgen assist and Jayme Beatty followed less than four minutes later to put the Owls in front.

Samantha Casas created some cushion with a goal in the 36th minute before Jayme Beatty found the back of the net less than 90 seconds later.

Casas capped the scoring with a goal in the 42nd minute to all but seal the deal.

The Owls head to Bakersfield on Tuesday, looking to build off tonight's performance.
