Owls Compete at Mt. SAC Invite

Citrus College continued the 2022 season at the Mt. San Antonio College Swimming and Diving Invitational.

Matty Roebuck had the highest finish of the day, taking seventh overall in the 50-yard fly with a time of 25.75 seconds. Julian Nichols wasn't far off his teammate, grabbing ninth in 26.03 seconds.

Nichols also clocked in at 23.38 seconds in the 50-yard free and Roebuck finished the 100-yard butterfly in 59.23 seconds for 11th place.

Amelia Wolfe finished 14 out of over 40 athletes in the 50-yard back with a time of 34.39 seconds. She also completed the 100-yard backstroke in 1:16.16.

Gabby Orozco finished the 50-yard breaststroke in 41.16 seconds, while Sophia Leon and Sabrina Rodriguez posted respective times of 44.82 and 46.45 seconds.

Sey Currie clocked in at 34.33 seconds in the 50 fly, while Mia Pfutzenrueter and Orozco were neck-and-neck in the 50 free with respective times of 29.89 and 29.97 seconds.

Currie finished the 100-yard individual medley in a time of 1:21.51 and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:27.71.

Izaiah Salinas finished the 50 back in 31.84 seconds, while Matteo Velasquez touched the wall in 36.09 seconds in the 50-yard breaststroke.

The women's 200-yard medley team finished in 2:07.00, while the men's team grabbed a time of 1:57.05. Citrus' women's 200-yard free relay took 13th with a time of 1:57.65, while the men touched the wall in 1:40.27. The Owl women finished the 400-yard free relay in 4:25.07, while the men completed the race in 3:46.84.

Citrus takes almost a month off before competing at the Western State Conference Invite No. 2 on March 19.
