Baseball Announces Final Matriculating Athletes

Glendora, CA -- With the 2013-2014 academic school year getting underway across the country, the Citrus College Baseball program is pleased to announce that five more athletes will be attending and playing for four year schools coming this fall and spring. Those five are in addition to the three who were announced towards the end of the 2013 baseball season.

Three Owls Commit

Glendora, CA -- Three Citrus College Baseball players have committed to four-year institutions and verbally accepted scholarship offers to continue their playing careers next year. Sophomores Blake James (Azusa Pacific), Warren Fishback (Cal State San Bernardino), and William Ouellette (Cal State San Bernardino) will be competing at local NCAA DII schools in the Spring of 2014.

James Unanimous All-WSC Selection

Glendora, CA -- The 2013 All-Western State Conference selections were announced on Tuesday evening, and Citrus College Sophomore Blake James was a unanimous selection to the 1st team. James, was one of five total Owls to dot the list, but the only one to be named 1st team.

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team wrapped up their 2013 season on Friday afternoon when they hosted SoCal #5 Glendale College. The Owls mustered nine hits and three runs, but it wasn’t enough as they fell 7-3.

Owls Upset Glendale

Glendale, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team continued to be a thorn in the side of SoCal #5 Glendale College on Thursday afternoon. After playing a pair of one run games earlier in the season with the Vaqueros, the Owls finally edged Glendale for the first time this season on Thursday 10-6.

Sacrifice

April 24, 2013

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team snapped a five game losing streak on Tuesday afternoon with a 4-3 10 inning win over visiting LA Valley College. The Owls got it done thanks to their sacrifice, as they laid down a season high five sacrifice bunts, and then got a sacrifice fly from sophomore William Ouellette that drove in the winning run.

Valley Deals Citrus Loss in Duel

Valley Glen, CA -- Host Los Angeles Valley College dealt the Citrus College Baseball team a loss in a pitcher’s duel on Saturday afternoon. The Owls had two more hits than their host, and even had the benefit of a pair of Monarch errors. It wasn’t enough though as Citrus stranded 11 base runners in a 2-1 loss.

Canyons Crushes Citrus

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team had a rough go of it on Saturday afternoon. After showing promise in the first inning, it all went downhill shortly thereafter as they fell to visiting College of the Canyons 15-3.

Just Shy Again

Santa Clarita, CA -- For the umpteenth time this year, the Citrus College Baseball team came up just shy again. This time it was at the hands of red hot College of the Canyons, who stymied a late Owls rally and handed Citrus a 4-3 loss.

Bakersfield Bests Citrus In Extras

Bakersfield, CA -- Despite a 5 for 5 day at the plate from sophomore Blake James, the Citrus College baseball team came up on the wrong end of the scoreboard on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls were bested by host and SoCal #4 Bakersfield College in 10 innings 8-7.

Leftovers

Glendora, CA -- No one really likes leftovers, including baseball teams. Unfortunately, the Citrus College Baseball team had a heaping helping of them on Saturday afternoon, as they left over a dozen runners on base and missed out on a golden opportunity to upset SoCal #4 Bakersfield College in what turned out to be a 5-3 loss for the Owls.

Hit and Miss

April 05, 2013

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team picked up another win on Thursday afternoon when they hosted visiting West Los Angeles College. It was hit and miss for the Owls. Citrus struck out seven times and recorded just two hits, but took advantage of being hit three times and three wild pitches to eke out the 3-1 win against the Wildcats.

Owls Wallop West LA

Culver City, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team stopped a small two game slide on Tuesday afternoon with a 10-0 walloping of West Los Angeles College. The Owls scored all 10 runs in the first four innings as the picked up their second straight conference victory.

Comeback Comes Up Short for Baseball

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team nearly erased a four run deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning, but their comeback came up short. Instead, the Owls suffered their second straight defeat at the hands of SoCal #14 Mt. San Antonio College 6-4.

Owls Shut Down In Loss at Mt. SAC

March 27, 2013

Walnut, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team was shut down on Tuesday afternoon in their non-conference meeting at Mt. San Antonio College. The Owls were held to four hits and one run in a 5-1 loss.

Freshman Ryan Ponder struck out five and earned a three inning save, in Citrus' 9-3 win at LA Mission on Friday.
Owls Finally Put W On Board

Sylmar, CA -- After a six game losing streak, the Owls were finally able to put a W on the board on Friday afternoon at LA Mission College. Citrus got RBI’s from five different batters, and took advantage of three Mission errors to record a 9-3 win over the Eagles.
