In the Middle

Glendora, CA -- The 2012 All-Western State Conference South Division team was announced recently, and things were good in the middle for the Owls. Freshman middle blocker Kayla Eddings and sophomore middle blocker Kim Collins both earned 1st team honors, while five other Owls earned 2nd team or Honorable Mention honors.

Owls’ Season Ends in First Round

Costa Mesa, CA -- The Citrus College Volleyball team’s fantastic 2012 season came to an end on Tuesday night in the first round of the 2012 CCCAA Volleyball Playoffs. Despite not being at full strength, the Owls put up a valiant effort against the #4 seeded Pirates of Orange Coast College, falling in straight sets 25-21, 25-17, and 25-15.

The Volleyball Playoff Preview: Regional Round #1

Glendora, CA --The Citrus College Volleyball team is back in the California Community College Athletic Association post-season for the first time since 2006. The Owls earned the #13 seed in Southern California and will take on the #4 seed Orange Coast College. The match is set for a 7:00 PM start in Costa Mesa, CA at the Peterson Gymnasium on the campus of Orange Coast College.

Glendora, CA -- For the first time since 2006, the Citrus College Volleyball team has qualified for the California Community College Athletic Association post-season. The Owls earned the #13 seed in the South and will be taking on the #4 seed at UPDATE: Orange Coast College on Tuesday evening in Costa Mesa at 7:00 PM.

Owls Cruise In Final Regular Season Match

Culver City, CA -- The Citrus College Volleyball team closed out their 2012 season on Wednesday night by cruising past host West Los Angeles College 25-11, 25-10, 25-15. All that’s left now for Citrus is to wait for Sunday’s playoff seeding meeting and hope their name is called.

Freshmen Lead Owls Past Santa Monica

Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Volleyball team won their second straight match on Friday evening and their third in their last four contests when they swept their host Santa Monica College in straight sets. The Owls did it with their freshman as they went to work and took care of business against the Corsairs winning 25-18, 25-12, 25-21.

Glendora, CA -- On a night in which the Citrus College Volleyball team honored their 2012 sophomores, it was a sophomore who powered Citrus past visiting Glendale. Sophomore Chelsey Martinez posted a match and career high 18 kills, eight of which came in the fourth and final set, as the Owls defeated the Vaqueros 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, and 25-22.

Owls Lose at Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA -- The Citrus College Volleyball team made the long trek up the 5 freeway to the 99 to take on State #6 Bakersfield College Wednesday night. After upsetting the Renegades in their own gym a month ago, the Owls felt good about there chances. Unfortunately for Citrus, the Owls fell flat in a 25-23, 25-16, 25-19 loss to Bakersfield.

Digging Their Way Through It

October 26, 2012

Glendora, CA (Volleyball) -- The Citrus College Volleyball team, ranked #17 in the State, played host to State #23 College of the Canyons on Friday evening looking to avenge their earlier loss to the Cougars. The Owls did just that, by digging their way through it, recording a season high 70 digs in a straight set sweep of Canyons.

#1 Pierce Too Much for Owls

October 25, 2012

Glendora, CA -- For much of the first set, the 17th ranked Owls hung with the #1 team in the State LA Pierce College. Citrus even had a chance to close out the Brahmas and hand them just their second set loss of the season, but Pierce was too much for Citrus to handle as they ended up losing the first set and the next two.

Volleyball Still at 17

Glendora, CA -- The California Community College Women’s Volleyball Coach Association State Top 25 Poll #6 came out this morning, and the Citrus College Volleyball team stayed at #17 this week. It’s the fourth straight poll in which the Owls have appeared.

Freshman Kim Nevarez accounted for 7.5 points, the second highest of the night, in Citrus' sweep of West LA.
Taking Care of Business

Glendora, CA (Volleyball) -- The Citrus College Volleyball team, ranked #17 in the State, took care of business on Friday night against West Los Angeles College. The Owls swept the Wildcats in convincing fashion winning 25-8, 25-6, and 25-8.

Volleyball Falls to 17th

Glendora, CA (Volleyball) -- The Citrus College Volleyball team fell to #17 in the State, after peaking at #15 last week. The Owls fell two spots after being handed their third straight road loss last Wednesday at Santa Barbara.

Owls Near Error Free in Sweep of Santa Monica

Glendora, CA (Volleyball) -- The Citrus College Volleyball team, ranked #17 in the State, committed just nine total errors and controlled their match from the first serve on Wednesday evening. The Owls rolled as they defeated Santa Monica College 25-15, 25-20, and 25-20.
