The Citrus College Baseball program is moving on 14 players to four-year universities in 2015.
14 Owls to Matriculate for Baseball

August 18, 2015

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball program is pleased to announce that 12 members of its 2015 squad along with two others from the previous season’s team will be matriculating this Fall. Two will be off to NCAA DI programs, four to NCAA DII universities, and eight to NAIA institutions.

Sophomores Taylor Grace, Troy Resch, and Nicholas Sergi all earned 1st team All-WSC South honors.

Glendora, CA -- A trio of sophomores who were integral to the Citrus College Baseball program’s success this past season were named 1st team All-Western State Conference South Division selections recently. Taylor Grace, Troy Resch, and Nicholas Sergi all earned the top nods, headlining a list of seven total Owls.

Owls Close Out 2015 With Win at West LA

Culver City, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball closed out their 2015 regular season on Friday afternoon at West Los Angeles College. The Owls had a big day at the plate rapping out 15 hits and scoring double-digit runs in an 11-3 win over the Wildcats.

Sophomore Aaron Torres drove in a pair and scored the game winning run in Citrus' 4-3 win over West LA.
Heads Up

April 24, 2015

Glendora, CA — It took an unorthodox way, but the Citrus College Baseball team used a “heads up” play to win their home finale on Thursday afternoon. In the bottom of the ninth, Owls sophomore Aaron Torres attempted to steal third base. The ensuing throw from the West LA catcher bounced off of Torres helmet and into center field, allowing Torres to score the winning run in a 4-3 victory.

Sophomore Brendan Campbell went 3 for 6 at the plate and drove in two of Citrus' three total runs in their 4-3 14-Inning loss to LA Mission on Tuesday.
Owls Lose Heartbreaker in 14 Innings

April 22, 2015

Glendora, CA — With a potential post-season berth on the line it took 14 innings to determine a winner on Tuesday afternoon when the Citrus College Baseball team played host to Los Angeles Mission College. The Owls and Eagles traded haymakers left and right, but Mission eventually ended up on top winning with a score in the top of the 14th 4-3.

Owls White Knuckle Win Over LA Mission; Move Into 3-Way Tie for Second Place

Sylmar, CA — The Citrus College Baseball team built up a big lead on Saturday afternoon when they travelled to take on red-hot Los Angeles Mission College in WSC South action. It was white knuckle affair for the Owls who had to hold on for a 10-9 victory and move into a three-way tie for second place in the WSC South.

Sophomore Nicholas Sergi helped the Owls stay in the mix in the WSC South race and won his 8th game of the season on Thursday.
Staying in the Mix

April 17, 2015

Glendale, CA -- With just four games left in the 2015 season, the Citrus College Baseball team kept themselves in the mix on Thursday afternoon with a 5-1 win over first place Glendale College. Sophomore Nicholas Sergi and Sean Patton shut down a Glendale offense that scored 10 runs on the Owls just two days prior.

Disastrous Fifth Dooms Owls Against Glendale

April 15, 2015

Glendora, CA -- A disastrous top of the fifth inning doomed the Citrus College Baseball team’s effort against first place Glendale College on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls gave up nine runs in that frame, all earned, in an eventual 10-7 loss to the Vaqueros.

Early Signs

April 12, 2015

Glendora, CA — The Citrus College Baseball team played host to Los Angeles Valley College in a crucial WSC South meeting on Thursday afternoon. The Owls got some strong early signs, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first inning on their way to a 12-2 win over the Monarchs.

Sophomore Anthony Virgen provided the only offense for the Owls on Saturday afternoon in a 2-5 loss to LA Valley College.
Falling Back

April 12, 2015

Glendora, CA — After pulling into a three way tie for second place in WSC South play with a 12-2 win over LA Valley College on Thursday afternoon, the Owls fell back into a two-way tie for third place with a 5-2 loss to the aforementioned Monarchs on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Troy Resch was 2 for 5 with a pair of RBI's and a score in Citrus' come from behind victory on Tuesday.
Owls Rally at Antelope

April 08, 2015

Lancaster, CA -- After surrendering a two run lead in the bottom of the sixth inning of their WSC South contest at Antelope Valley College on Tuesday afternoon, the Owls staged a rally. Citrus went on to two runs in the top of the eighth to regain the lead, before sophomores Ryan Ponder and Sean Patton slammed the door over the final inning and two-thirds in a 5-4 victory over the Marauders.

In game of Citrus' two game series with Mt. San Antonio College, sophomore Nicholas Sergi nearly pitched a complete game earning the win.
Owls Split With Mt. SAC During Break from Conference Play

Glendora & Walnut, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team played a home and away as per their usual routine during their spring break from conference play. The Owls split with the Mounties beating them 4-2 at home and falling 3-4 on the road.

Sophomore Anthony Virgen drove in four runs, scored three times, and hit a home run in Citrus' 17-4 win over Antelope Valley.
A Little Something Extra

March 28, 2015

Glendora, CA -- After following up their last six wins with a loss, the Citrus College Baseball team got a little something extra on Friday afternoon when it played host to visiting Antelope Valley College in Western State Conference South Division action. Not only did the Owls blast eight extra base hits, but the Owls picked up an extra win, with a 17-4 defeat of the visiting Marauders.

Sophomore Mark Segat was 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI on Thursday when Citrus hosted Canyons. His RBI in the bottom of the seventh was the game winner for the Owls.
Keeping Alive

March 27, 2015

Glendora, CA — Though there’s still a little over a month left of games to go, and it’s never too early to county anyone out, Thursday home contest with College of the Canyons went a long way in keeping the Owls’ post-season dreams alive. Citrus went toe to toe with the Cougars and walked away with a much needed victory, defeating the #8 team in Southern California 3-2.

Owls Held to Two Hits in Loss at Canyons

Santa Clarita, CA -- Hits were a lean commodity for the Citrus College Baseball team on Tuesday afternoon when they travelled to College of the Canyons for a WSC South showdown. The Owls were held to two total hits, and drew zero walks in a 7-0 loss to the Cougars.

Rubber Stamped

March 23, 2015

Glendora, CA -- After splitting the previous two contests this year with Bakersfield College, the Citrus College Baseball team played host to Bakersfield College on Saturday afternoon for the rubber match. The Owls put a rubber stamp on the season series with a 6-3 victory, winning their first conference series of the season.
