Sophomore point guard Leo Ricketts had a standout week for the Owls, powering Citrus to three wins—including two in the Citrus College Men’s Basketball Holiday Classic.

Ricketts opened the Holiday Classic with a season-high 40 points in the Owls’ 110-101 victory over Southwestern on Friday, December 5. He shot 12-of-25 from the field, 5-of-11 from three, and 11-of-13 at the line while adding a team-high five assists, three steals, and two rebounds.

In the tournament finale, Citrus took down No. 9 Cerritos College, 84-71. Ricketts’ defensive presence and relentless energy set the tone as he helped shut down the Falcons’ backcourt, contributing four points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Ricketts had another elite showing in last night’s 101-61 road win over Long Beach City. Ricketts poured in 27 points on an efficient 8-of-13 shooting and 6-of-8 from three, along with four assists, three steals, and two rebounds.

On the season, Ricketts is averaging 20.8 points, 3.9 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.

Citrus continues its road stretch at East Los Angeles College on Friday, December 12 at 7 p.m., before heading north to face Fresno City College on Tuesday, December 16 at 3 p.m.
