#10 Dominic Torrez

Torrez helped No. 14 ranked Citrus College Baseball pick up two wins last week against ranked opponents.

In last Tuesday’s 6-5 road win against No. 8 Cypress College on February 24, Torrez went 3-for-4 with one RBI, one run and a double while adding two putouts at third base and one assist.

Although the Owls narrowly lost to No. 12 ranked Riverside City College last Friday, Torrez went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and a stolen base while recording a putout and an assist defensively from third base.

Citrus bounced back with a 3-1 road win at Golden West College on Saturday, February 28, as Torrez went 1-for-1 with a stolen base and recorded two assists while playing shortstop.

On the season, Torrez is batting .333 with 16 hits, 10 runs, 10 stolen bases, four walks, and three RBIs. Defensively, Torrez currently holds a perfect fielding percentage with 34 assists and 17 putouts.

The No. 14-ranked Owls, now 11-6 overall, are currently in their first conference series of the season against Glendale College, with Game 2 set for Thursday, March 5 at 2 p.m. at home.
