Nick MacLaughlin joined Citrus College in July 2024 and serves as the primary communications contact for the Owls’ 16 intercollegiate athletic programs. He oversees athletics communications, media relations, website management, social media, statistical reporting, photography, videography, and game-day operations while promoting the achievements of Citrus student-athletes, coaches, and teams.
He brings more than a decade of experience in collegiate athletics and higher education, with experience at the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division III, and 3C2A levels. In 2026, MacLaughlin was selected to serve on the sports information staff for the 3C2A Men’s and Women’s Basketball State Championships, where he handled live statistics, stat calling, postgame interviews, and scorer’s table operations at the state’s premier community college basketball event. Before joining Citrus, he served as Campus Recreation Facilities Coordinator at Grand Canyon University, where he managed recreation and athletic facilities, student staff, communications, and campus engagement initiatives. Prior to GCU, he spent more than eight years at Scripps College, first as Wellness Specialist and later as Facilities Coordinator, overseeing recreation facilities, athletic events, wellness programming, and student engagement.
A graduate of Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, MacLaughlin has built his career around collegiate athletics, campus recreation, and telling the stories of student-athletes. His background includes athletic communications, event management, facility operations, wellness programming, website management, photography, videography, and digital media.
Originally from Southern California, MacLaughlin enjoys spending time with his family and their two daughters. He also enjoys taking family walks, exploring new hiking trails, spending time at the beach, playing fantasy football, collecting shoes, and watching sporting events.
