Bio

Athletic Counselor Alicia Longyear is in her ninth year as the athletic counselor for Citrus College. “This is my dream job,” Longyear says. “I want nothing more than to see my student-athletes enjoy college and be successful in reaching their goals.”

Longyear graduated from Claremont High School in 1996, and then went on to the University of Redlands where she acquired her BA in Psychology in 2000. From there Longyear went on to get her Masters degree in Higher Education Counseling in 2003 from the University of La Verne.

Longyear is an avid runner and even participates in competitive events. “I started running when I was 16, and I haven’t stopped yet—now I just run with a double baby jogger” Longyear said. Longyear is also a fan of camping, hiking, paddle boarding, and vacationing at the beach with her family.

Longyear resides in Rancho Cucamonga with her husband Dave Longyear, who is a math teacher at Townsend Junior High in Chino Hills. Together they have a son Cooper and daughter Tatum.
