Five Game Winning Streak Snapped

Five Game Winning Streak Snapped

Sylmar, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team's five game winning streak was snapped on Friday afternoon at LA Mission. The Owls committed a pair of errors and gave up 11 hits en route to a 6-1 loss, their first Friday February 8th.

The Owls did collect seven hits on Friday, but for the first time in a few weeks their bats failed them when they needed them the most. Citrus had runners on base in all but one inning, and runners in scoring position in six innings. Of those six innings, only one time were they able to convert it into a run, when freshman Nathan Virgen scored on a passed ball in the third inning. By that time though, the Owls were already in a two run hole, that they never were able to climb out of.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 8-4 on the year and 2-1 in conference play. The Owls will turn around right away and  try and get back on track against West LA College on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM at Citrus College.
