Walnut, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team was shut down on Tuesday afternoon in their non-conference meeting at Mt. San Antonio College. The Owls were held to four hits and one run in a 5-1 loss.

The host Mounties scored early getting a run in the bottom half of the first inning. The Owls answered in the top of the third, with a sacrifice fly to center field off the bat of sophomore Blake James. The Mounties came back to take the lead in the bottom half of the inning and never looked back. Mt. SAC scored twice more in the fourth and once more in the seventh to reach their five runs.

Meanwhile, the Owls threatened in each of the fourth and eighth innings. In the fourth, Citrus put a runner all the way over to third base, only to get a strikeout and a ground out to end the threat. In the eighth, sophomore Warren Fishback got to second, only to see three consecutive outs follow, ending any chance the Owls had of putting any more runs on the board.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 10-14 overall. Citrus will be back at home on Thursday when they host the Mounties. First pitch is set for 2:30 PM.
