Glendale, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team continued to be a thorn in the side of SoCal #5 Glendale College on Thursday afternoon. After playing a pair of one run games earlier in the season with the Vaqueros, the Owls finally edged Glendale for the first time this season on Thursday 10-6.

Citrus actually started off slow, falling into a 3-0 hole after the bottom of the second inning. The Owls used a big top of the third to go on top of the Vaqueros 5-3. Glendale rallied to tie the game up at five scores each in the bottom half of the fifth, but a pair of scores in the sixth, a score in the seventh, and two more in the top of the ninth helped seal the deal for the Owls.

Sophomore Blake James went 2 for 5 at the plate with a pair of RBI's in the win. Sophomore William Ouellette was 2 for 4 with two runs scored, while sophomore William Walters also went 2 for 4 at the dish. Freshman Marcos Martinez earned his second straight decision, pitching three and a third innings of relief on Thursday, striking out three Glendale batters.

With the win, Citrus improves to 14-20 overall and 8-15 in WSC South play. The Owls will host Glendale on Friday afternoon as they close out the 2013 season. First pitch is set for 2:30 PM.
