Cerritos, CA -- For the second time in as many road games, the Citrus College Baseball team was blanked on the road. The Owls' pitching was nearly step for step for the Falcons, save for a rough first inning, in what turned out to be a 4-0 loss for Citrus.

All four of Cerritos' runs on the day came in the bottom of the first inning. After that, the Owls quieted the Falcon bats. Sophomore Dani Schlarmann II came in to relieve Citrus' starting pitcher and was sterling for three and a third innings. Schlarmann didn't allow a hit, and walked just one batter while striking out another. After him freshman Nicholas Sergi was also solid pitching three nearly flawless innings, giving up a single hit, walking none, and striking out two.

Despite the promise of the Owl arms, the Citrus bats, just couldn't get it going. Sophomore Nathan Virgen went 2 for 4, but Citrus only manage three more total hits among 28 other at bats as they fell.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 2-2 on the year. The Owls will be back in the friendly confines of their Citrus College Field on Tuesday when they host San Bernardino Valley College. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
