Culver City, CA -- After dropping two straight between the previous week and last, the Citrus College Baseball program was finally able to string together a couple of wins. The Owls followed up Thursday's 12-4 win at West LA, with another over the Wildcats on Sunday, grabbing a 6-3 victory.

Freshman Cameron Rodriguez got the call against West LA, and he threw a gem. Rodriguez went six strong, surrendering just three total hits, no runs, and no walks, while K'ing seven total Wildcats. With Rodriguez shutting down the opposing team's bats, the Owls offense got the job done early and often.

In the top of the first, freshman Taylor Grace started the game off with a two run home run. Sophomore Johnathon Reynoso added an RBI triple in the top of the third, and freshman Brendan Campbell hit an RBI single in the top of the sixth to make it 4-0.

Reynoso would drive in another run in the top of the seventh, with an RBI single, only to see the Wildcats score a run in each of the bottom halves of the seventh and eighth innings. Freshman Brett Shewmaker gave the Owls a little more breathing room in the top of the ninth, with an RBI single to made it 6-2.

In the win, sophomore Matthew Reynoso was 2 for 4 as was his cousin Johnny Reynoso. With the win, Citrus improves to 11-11 overall and 4-5 in WSC South play. The Owls will try to keep it going this Tuesday when they travel to Bakersfield College for a 3:00 PM tussle.
