Walnut, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team made the 10 minute trek up Grand Avenue on Thursday afternoon to take on Mt. San Antonio College in a non-conference match-up. The Owls and Mounties went o blow for blow against each other, but a big late inning by Mt. SAC doomed Citrus as they fell 7-10.

Mt. SAC would strike first with a score in the bottom of the second inning, but the Owls answered in the top of the fourth thanks to a Mountie error that allowed freshman Aaron Torres to score. Mt. SAC came right back and took the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a single score and then rallied in the fifth with three more to go up 5-1.

Citrus would take their first lead one and only lead in the very next inning throwing up a five spot in the top of the sixth. Freshman Taylor Grace ripped a two RBI triple, while sophomore Michael Bradley added an RBI single. Freshman Mark Segat notched a triple of his that scored Bradley, and freshman Brendan Campbell drove in the innings final run with an RBI single that scored Segat.

The lead wouldn't hold for long as Mt. SAC tied it up in the bottom of the sixth, and then put together a big inning of their own with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Owls cut it to three with Segat RBI double in the top of the eighth, but the game was never any closer as Citrus dropped to 18-14 on the year.

The Owls will get a chance to return the favor on Thursday when they host the Mounties at Citrus College. First pitch is set for 2:30 PM.
