Sylmar, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team wrapped up their 2014 road schedule on Thursday afternoon, and got one for the road. The Owls scored four runs in the top of the ninth, to upset WSC South Champs LA Mission College 7-3.

It took some time, but the Owls struck first on Thursday, when freshman Taylor Grace hit a solo home run to right field to make it 1-0. Citrus would make it 2-0, two innings later, thanks to an RBI fielder's choice from sophomore Jonathon Reynoso.

The lead didn't last long though as the Eagles came back in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game  up at two runs each. Citrus went back up for good in the top of the seventh thanks to a sacrifice fly to center field from sophomore Nathan Virgen that made it 3-2. In the top of the ninth, Citrus put the game away for good, thanks in large part to a bases clearing three RBI double from Grace.

Freshman Nicholas Sergi (6-1) picked up the win on Thursday, pitching seven strong. Sergi scattered nine hits, didn't give up any walks, and struck out five Mission batters on the day.

With the win, Citrus improves to 19-6 overall and 12-8 in WSC South play. The Owls will close out their season on Friday against LA Mission at 2:30 PM at Citrus College.
