Ventura, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team's losing streak hit three games on Saturday afternoon when they travelled to Ventura College. The Owls were outhit 14-5, in a 6-2 loss.

As they have been wont to do, the Owls got their scoring started early. After freshman Richard Chavez drew a one out walk, sophomore Troy Resch hammered a home run that got Citrus going early and leading 2-0. That would be all the glory Citrus would get though as they put a runner on second just twice over the remaining eight innings, and only once because of their play at the plate.

With the early lead, Citrus looked good heading into the bottom of the third inning where they had their first sign of trouble. The Pirates put three runs on the Owls, and added another in the fourth to make it 4-2. Ventura would go on to score twice more in the bottom of the sixth, for good measure, but it was more than enough, as the Owls had only four hits outside the first inning, and drew just three walks.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 5-6-1 on the season. The Owls will return back home on Thursday to close out their early non-conference slate against Pasadena City College. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
