Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball team gave up another big inning on Saturday afternoon when they hosted Los Angeles Mission College in Western State Conference South Division play. The big inning was enough to foil the Owls win, as they fell to the Eagles 3-4.

Through the first half of the game, it was a pitching duel as sophomore starter Cameron Rodriguez and Mission starter Aaron Hamilton each took turns shutting down the opposing team's bats. The Owls scratched out the game's first run when sophomore Mark Segat hit a single to the short stop that drove in sophomore Troy Resch. One inning later, freshman Rudy Casarez III drove in the game's second run with a single to center field that scored sophomore Shawn Sweeney.

Those momentarily came off the rails for the Owls in the top of the seventh inning when the Eagles went on to score four runs. Citrus would get a big opportunity in the bottom of the ninth when they loaded the bases up with one out. Sweeney would cut the lead to one with an RBI groundout, but the fouled out to right field ending the threat.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 9-9-1 overall and 3-3 in WSC South play. The Owls will hit the road for back to back games starting on Tuesday when they travel to West Los Angeles College for a 2:30 PM first pitch.
