Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Baseball team worst loss of the young 2016 season on Thursday afternoon when they hosted Ventura College. The Owls struggled with the visiting Pirates in a 10-2 loss.

Ventura didn't waste much time getting themselves on the board with a run in the top of the first. The Owls would answer with two in the bottom of the second thanks to an two-RBI single to center field from sophomore Jonathan Ayala. That's all the offense the Owls would get though, as they were held scoreless over the final seven innings.

The Pirates meanwhile scored six in the third and three more in the fifth for their 10 runs. Citrus had just two total hits and two walks in those final seven innings, never getting a runner past first base.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 3-2-1 on the season. The Owls will be back in action on Saturday when they host Oxnard College. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.
