Santa Clarita, CA - After a split through the first two contests between Citrus College and SoCal #3 College of the Canyons, the Owls knew they have a tall task if they were going to win the series back on the Cougars territory. Canyons came out and flexed its muscle, proving why they're ranked so highly in a 12-1 victory over the Owls.

On the day, the Owls were held to just six total hits and one walk. Making matters worse, Citrus struck out eight times. Citrus put a runner in scoring position just two times through the first five innings, and fell into an early 10-0 hole halfway through.

Citrus' only run of the game would come in the top of the sixth when freshmen catcher Steven Mendoza was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, driving in sophomore shortstop Michael Carlos.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 8-7-1 on the season and 1-2 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back at home on Tuesday when they open up the conference series against Antelope Valley College at 2:30 PM.
