Valley Glen, CA - The Citrus College Baseball team's recent struggles hit a new low on Thursday afternoon when the Owls travelled to LA Valley College. The Owls were held to a season low two hits, mustering just six total base runners in a 6-1 loss.

Sophomore starting pitcher Chris Ghosn did his best to keep the Owls in the contest, going seven innings scattering nine hits and one walk, while giving up six runs, five of which came late in the game in the seventh inning. The offense did him very few favors though, with those two hits and that one run, off a double from freshman Kyosuke Ushimaru in the top of the seventh that at the time made it a 1-1 tie.

That was all the runs, and more or less the offense Citrus would muster though, as the Monarchs went on to score five unanswered in the bottom half of the seventh en route to their five run victory.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 10-12-1 on the year and 3-5 in WSC South play. The Owls will try and avoid the sweep by LA Valley on Saturday afternoon when they host the Monarchs at 1:00 PM.
