Sylmar, CA - For the third time this season, the Citrus College Baseball team had a player hit two home runs in a single contest and drive in a total of seven RBIs, but for the first time it came in a losing effort. Freshman Dominic Baca was 3 for 5 with a pair of runs, and those seven RBIs, in Citrus' 9-8 loss to LA Mission.

Things started off well enough for the Owls, with Baca driving in a run off an Eagle fielding miscue in the top of the first. Mission would go on to score five runs, between the second and fifth innings to storm ahead 5-1. The Owls would finally break up the Eagle scoring streak in the top of the fifth when sophomore Joseph Morreale led things off with a solo jack. Five at bats later Baca tied it up with a three-run home run to make it 5-5.

Unfortunately Citrus couldn't stop the Eagles from continuing to cross home plate. Mission went back on top with one in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the bottom of the sixth to make it 9-5. Baca tried to pull the Owls back in it with another three-run shot, this one in the top of the seventh, but the Owls never scored again.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 11-16-1 overall and 4-9 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back home on Thursday hosting Mission with first pitch being set for 2:30 PM.
