Glendora, CA – In their final home game of their 2016 campaign, the Citrus College Baseball team was overcome by Bakersfield College in the final half of the game for the second straight contests. The Renegades scored three runs between the 6th and 9th innings to defeat Citrus 5-2.

The Owls landed the opening blow, getting an RBI single to left field off the bat of freshman Dominic Baca in the bottom of the first for an early lead. Bakersfield would match it with a score in the top of the second, and then take a 2-1 lead on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth.

Citrus would tie the game up in the bottom of the fifth when sophomore Joseph Morreale hit an RBI infield single to third base that plated freshman Marcos Campos, but that was the final score of the game for Citrus.

The Renegades meanwhile went on to score one in the sixth, and two more in the top of the ninth to secure the win.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 14-20-1 on the year and 7-13 in WSC South play. Citrus will close out the year on Friday when they travel to Bakersfield again for the regular season finale at 3:00 PM.
