Glendora, CA – Citrus College sophomore left hander, Brennan Piceno is the first Owl to sign a scholarship offer from the 2017 Citrus College Baseball team. The 6'4 hurler out of South Hills High School will suit up for California State University San Marcos in 2018.

"It's always been a dream of mine to go play at a school in the San Diego area," Piceno said. "I really made a connection with the coaches, and I feel like I can go out there and compete with them right away. I love the campus, and the fact that it's one of the top Division II programs in the country is just icing on the cake."

Piceno made 26 career appearances for the Owls over two seasons, posting a 6-4 record with a 4.56 career ERA. Piceno blossomed as a sophomore, going 6-3 in 70.1 innings of work, with a 3.97 ERA and 48 punch outs. For his efforts, Piceno was a 2nd team All-WSC East selection this past year.

"Coach Gomez helped me out a lot with not just the physical aspects of the game, but the mental aspects of the game these past two years. There's a big difference from high school to college, and Coach Gomez and the entire program helped me make that jump," Piceno said. "I'm confident that the tools I learned here at Citrus will help me continue to be competitive at the next level."

"Brennan made huge strides these past two seasons with our program. We are extremely proud of what he has accomplished thus far, and are looking forward to seeing him continuing to get better as he begins the next phase of his academic and playing career."
