The Fighting Owl Baseball team took a drive to San Bernardino Valley College on Tuesday for a non-conference regional game. Citrus swooped in and snatched up the win, avenging an earlier loss to the Wolverines by a score of 6-5. The win was the 2nd in less than a week for the Owls, who have begun to find their rhythm as a team.

Thomas Chavez led the charge offensively, going 3 for 4 including a double, with 2 RBI's, a run scored and stolen base. Kanta Kobayashi notched a base hit in the effort, driving in 2 runs and recording a stolen base. Gerardo Zurita went 1 for 2 with an RBI and a run. Tyler Kretschmar went 2 for 2 and Alejandro Loera went 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored.

Enrique Zaldivar picked up his 2nd win of the season on 4 innings pitched. Zaldivar face 14 batters, striking out a season high 7 batters. Samuel Gomez pitched 4.2 innings and recorded 5 strikeouts.

Citrus improves to 3-9-1 in 2019 and has an upward trending arrow. The Owls take the field again tomorrow at home when they host West LA for a 2:00 PM start time.
