Citrus College battled but couldn't avoid the Western State Conference series sweep with a 13-6 loss to No. 5-ranked Glendale College.

The Owls drop to 14-15 overall, 7-5 in conference, while the Vaqueros improve to 23-5 on the year and remain undefeated in WSC action at 12-0.

Three Owls finished with two hits in the game, led by Jared Gener's 2-for-4 performance with two runs and one RBI. Devon Diaz went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI, while Matthew Espinoza went 2-for-4 with one run.

After going down 1-0 in the bottom of the first, the Owls took the lead in the third with a two-RBI single from Chad Green.

The Vaqueros took back the lead in the third, but Espinoza tied it up in the fifth after coming home as Glendale got an out at first.

Glendale once again jumped in front, but the Owls kept battling. Diaz knocked an RBI single in the seventh, while Nicholas Santiago and Gener each knocked home runs to cap the scoring for the Owls.

Citrus heads to Bakersfield College on Tuesday for a 2:30 p.m. game.
