For the second game in a row, Citrus College found itself trailing early. The Owls battled but gave up a big inning in a 12-3 loss to Pasadena City College Saturday.
The Owls slip to 0-2 on the young year, while the Lancers improve to 1-1.
Chad Green had another solid game, going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Trailing 6-0, the Owls broke through in the bottom of the sixth after loading up the bases with one out. A wild pitch plated one run before Jordan Sheridan walked to load the bases once again. Nicholas Santiago knocked a base hit to right to tack on a run and Roman Robles walked in another one to put Citrus within reach, 6-3.
PCC responded right back, however, scoring six runs in the top of the seventh to all but put the game out of reach, 12-3.
Citrus continues at home, hosting Golden West College on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
