Citrus College picked up its second win in a row with a 10-6 victory over Victor Valley College Friday afternoon.

The Owls improve to 3-4 on the year, while the Rams drop to 0-6 overall.

Victor Valley got on the board first, but Citrus responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Devon Diaz (two runs, two RBIs) led the inning off with a free trip to first and stole second before Chad Green (2-for-3, two runs) joined him on base. Diego Gonzales (1-for-3) singled through the left side to send Diaz home before Green came home on a wild pitch, 2-1.

The Rams scored again in the top of the second, but the Owls once again had a response. Diaz got things going with a two-run homer before Connor Green drilled a base hit through the right to plate two more, 7-3.

Citrus tacked on another run in the fifth and sixth to up their lead to 8-5 and shut down a Ram rally in the seventh after the visitors pulled within two, 8-6.

With two outs in the bottom of the eighth, the Owls loaded the bases and Roman Robles walked in the first of two runs. Isaiah Pacheco drew a rogue pitch to the body to add another and seal the 10-6 victory.

On the mound, Steven Carlin picked up the first win of his collegiate career, while Tyler Carmona grabbed the first save of his collegiate career with 2.2 innings of work.

The Owls and Rams face each other once again on Saturday, this time on Victor Valley's turf with a 1 p.m. start time.
