Citrus College tried to rally but couldn't overcome an early deficit, falling 7-3 to LA Mission Thursday on the road.
The Owls slip to 4-13 on the year and 0-2 in Western State Conference-South action, while the Eagles improve to 7-10, 2-0 in conference.
Nicholas Santiago led the Owls with a 2-for-5 performance at the plate, while six other Owls finished with a hit in the game, including a two-run homer from Jin Hattori in the ninth.
Citrus and LA Mission close out the three-game series on Saturday at 2 p.m., weather permitting.
