Citrus College kept its bats hot but just couldn't send runners home in an 11-1 loss at Bakersfield College.
The Owls slip to 8-27 overall and 4-13 in Western State Conference action, while the Renegades improve to 15-21 on the year and 8-9 in conference.
Devon Diaz (2-for-5) and Connor Green (2-for-4) led the Owls offensively, while Nicholas Santiago, Diego Gonzales, Jordan Sheridan, Chad Green, Jin Hattori and Sean Rooney also had hits in the game.
The Owls and Renegades close out the three-game series on Saturday at 1 p.m. back at Citrus.
