Citrus College picked up its third win in a row Saturday afternoon, downing Rio Hondo College 4-1.

The Owls improve to 3-1 overall, while the Roadrunners slip to 1-5 on the year.

Citrus had nine hits in the game with four Owls posting two each: Chase Bernal (2-for-3), Connor Green (2-for-4), Nathan Hellein (2-for-4) and Michael Reyes (2-for-4). Mario Catalan also had a hit.

Andrew Granados picked up the win for the Owls, striking out five batters in seven innings pitched, while Reece Harney grabbed his second-straight save after coming in with bases loaded in the top of the ninth to strike out a batter for the final out of the game.

The Owls wasted little time and got on the board in their first chance at the plate. With bases loaded and two outs, Hellein knocked an RBI single to send in Bernal for the first run of the game.

Bernal made it 2-0 with an RBI base hit of his own in the bottom of the second, but the Roadrunners got one run back in the top of the fourth.

In the bottom half of the inning, Jaden St. Cyr scored on a wild pitch to keep some distance for the Owls, while Catalan drove Hellein home in the eighth to cap the scoring.

Citrus is scheduled to host San Bernardino Valley College on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
