LA Mission
Citrus College won a 7-6 battle over LA Mission College Thursday afternoon to guarantee the Western State Conference series win.
The Owls improve to 11-9 overall and 3-2 in WSC action, while the Eagles slip to 7-14 on the year and 1-4 in conference.
It was an evenly matched game as both teams finished with nine hits and two errors, just Citrus capitalized one more time to secure the win.
Jaden St. Cyr led the Owls with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate, scoring two runs and batting in another, while Nathan Hellein followed with a 2-for-5 showing, two runs and one RBI. Mario Catalan (1-for-3), Jordan Sheridan (1-for-4), Jordan Quintero (1-for-4), and Sean Rooney (1-for-4) also had hits in the game.
Alex Mendez picked up the win on the mound for Citrus, while Reece Harney earned his fifth save of the year.
The Owls and Eagles are back at it again on Saturday at LA Mission with first pitch set for 1 p.m.
