Citrus Powers Past AVC

Citrus College opened its Western State Conference series with Antelope Valley College with a bang, grabbing an 11-6 victory at home.

The Owls improve to 12-10 on the year and 4-3 in WSC action, while the Marauders drop to 10-10 overall, 2-5 in conference.

Citrus tripled AVC's offensive output, out-hitting the visitors 16-to-5 with several Owls knocking multiple hits. Connor Green went 3-for-5 with a home run, scoring one run and batting in three others. Michael Reyes also went 3-for-5, scoring twice and grabbing two RBIs. Jaden St. Cyr, Nathan Hellein, and Jordan Quintero all had two hits, while Mario Catalan, Jason Armendariz, Alex Hernandez, and Sean Rooney each had a hit.

Reece Harney picked up the win on the mound for the Owls, tossing seven strikeouts in seven innings of action.

The Owls look to carry momentum into their road contest on Thursday with the Marauders, with first pitch set for 2:30 p.m.
