Owls Take Game Two

Citrus College picked up its second straight win Thursday afternoon, beating West Los Angeles College 6-3. The Owls improve to 15-17 overall and 7-7 in conference, while the Wildcats fall to 7-25 overall and 2-12 in the conference.
Connor Green and Jordan Sheridan led the owls. Green went (1-for-3) from the plate, with two RBIs, and scored a run. Sheridan also went (1-for-3) from the plate and added two RBIs. On the mound, Andrew Granados picked up the win, and Alex Mendez got the save.
The Owls wasted no time claiming a lead in the first inning as Jordan Sheridan came to the plate with runners on first and second before hitting a double to deep center field, scoring two runs and taking a 2-0 lead. The Owls added another run in the second, taking a 3-0 lead.
The Wildcats scored their first run in the top of the fourth, making the game 3-1. The Owls responded in the bottom of the fourth as they loaded the bases with no outs. The Owls' batters capitalized and scored three runs, extending their lead to 6-1.
The Owls gave up another run in the seventh and eighth innings but held on for a 6-3 victory over the visiting Wildcats.
Citrus will travel to West Los Angeles College tomorrow looking to complete the sweep. The first pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
