Glendora, CA -- Three Citrus College sophomore football players were named California Community College Football Coaches Association Region IV 1st team All-State this past week. Isaiah Kepley (WR) was named to the team on the offensive side of the ball, while Rodney Mathews (DB) and Chris Laros (P) were named on the defensive side.

The three All-State selections is the most for the Owls since the 2006 season when they also received three All-State honorees. It also marks the third straight year that Citrus had at least one selection on the All-State squad.

Kepley put his name all over the record books this season, hauling in 51 passes for a team high 752 yards and a team high 8 touchdowns, just two away from the single season record. In addition Kepley had a hand in 114 points this year which ties the all time single season record of 114 set in 1990, a mark that was also tied back in 2003.

In addition, Kepley has put his name in the career record books with 73 total receptions (3rd all-time), 954 yards receiving (4th all-time), and 10 receiving touchdowns (2nd all-time). Kepley also has 142 career points which is the new program record for most points in a career. Kepley also broke the record for longest field goal in a game against Long Beach City College when he booted a 52 yarder.

Laros has had an outstanding 2012 season, with over 50 punts for over 2,000 yards. Laros is averaging 41.1 yards per kick, the fifth best mark in the State, and the 3rd best single season average in program history.

Laros also booted a program record 75 yarder earlier in the season against Chaffey, and has forced 9 fair catches and kicked 10 balls inside the 20 yard line without being blocked. In his career, Laros boasts a 39.8 punt average, the second best in program history..

Mathews meanwhile has left his mark on the program as well. This year, Mathews led the team with 54 solo tackles, a program record, and added 35 assisted tackles for a team high 89 tackles on the year. In addition, Mathews had three tackles for a loss, three interceptions and four pass break-ups.

In his career Mathews is first all-time with 94 solo tackles and is third all-time with 158 career total tackles. Additionally, Mathews is second in program history with nine career interceptions and third in program history with 14 pass break-ups in his two seasons on the gridiron for Citrus.
