Glendora, CA -- Citrus College Offensive Coordinator Ben Noonan has accepted the Head Football Coaching Position at Sierra College. Noonan has served as the Offensive Coordinator for the Owls the past four seasons, helping turn around a program that went 7-4 in 2012.

"It's a bitter sweet time for my family and I. It's a great opportunity for me, but I'm also leaving a place that I am extremely happy at," Noonan said. "I'm excited for the new opportunity, but I'll miss the relationships I've developed here at Citrus College. I feel like I've left the offense a great foundation to build from, and I'll be looking forward to watching the Citrus College Football program continue its success."

Noonan helped guide an Owls offense that experienced an unprecedented amount of success over the last four years. Players under Noonan's tutelage have left their marks all over the Owls' record books especially at the quarterback and wide receiver positions. In addition, 24 offensive players went on to earn scholarship offers from four-year universities, including the 2010 season that saw four offensive lineman accept scholarship offers from BCS schools.

"Meeting the day to day deadlines within the Citrus football program along with my teaching responsibilities in the kinesiology department has helped prepare to take over my own program," Noonan said. "Working under Coach Ponciano has given me a tremendous opportunity to learn from someone with 20 plus years of coaching experience."

Noonan will be taking over a Sierra program that competes in the Valley Division in the Northern California Football Association. Sierra is coming off a season in which it went 5-6. Noonan takes over the position from recently retired Head Coach Jeff Tisdel who helmed the Wolverines for 12 seasons.
