Glendora, CA - Citrus College sophomore defensive lineman Brandon Hayashi became the third Owl to sign a scholarship offer this past week when he signed with Montana State University. Hayashi was a two-year starter for the Owls on the defensive line, and was a 2nd team All-SCFA Central League honoree in 2015.

"The coaching staff on my visit to Montana State was awesome. They brought the right amount of seriousness and fun, and they introduced me to all of the opportunities that they provided to be involved in the community," Hayashi said about choosing the Bobcats. "It wasn't just about football with them, it was about how their program could help me become a better student and man."

Over two seasons, Hayashi totaled 91 career tackles, 37 solo and 54 assisted. Hayashi had four total sacks, and 10 tackles for a loss forced a fumble and recovering a fumble over the course of 19 games.

"Citrus has helped me mature. They were able to teach me some new techniques, and study habits that I hadn't been taught before. It's helped me push myself, especially the coaching staff and some of my teammates like Benjamin Kane, Willard "Trent" Williams, and Mitch Harmon."

"Brandon is an outstanding individual on and off the field," said Citrus College Head Football Coach Ron Ponciano. "He is the type of student-athlete that every program needs, and will be someone Montana State can rely on, on the gridiron, in the locker room, and in the classroom, over the next few seasons."
