Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Football team's first foray into the American Division of the Southern California Football Association has been a success early in 2016. The Owls are 3-0 to start the year and on Tuesday were voted the #1 team in the Southern California American Division.

The Owls have a long way to go in 2016, but things are off to a positive start. Citrus started off their campaign with an upset win over National Division member Chaffey College in their season opener. The Owls were one of just three American Division teams who opened with a win over the larger school division in the first official week of the season. Offensively, Citrus is averaging 43.3 points per game, and defensively they are coming off their best performance of the year when they held San Bernardino Valley College to nine total points, all off field goals, and all in the first half.

Citrus takes a break from action this weekend, but returns to play on Saturday October 1st at Citrus Stadium against American Division #2 Southwestern College (3-0). Kick-off is set for 6:00 PM.
