Citrus College's Matthew Littlejohn is set to continue his collegiate career at NCAA Division I Cal. The sophomore defensive back joins four other transfers that will join the Golden Bears as mid-year enrollees in January of 2023.

"I feel blessed to be in the position I'm in," said Littlejohn. "It feels good that all the sacrifices I've made to get here were worth it."

Littlejohn, who ranks No. 4 among the nation's junior college safeties by 247Sports Composite, grabbed his second-straight all-conference first-team honor and first All-State Region IV Defense First-Team selection after finishing the year with 25 tackles, 20 of which were solo stuffs. He had two tackles for loss (nine yards), one fumble return, one interception, and nine breakups.

"Citrus means a lot to me because it gave me a second chance to play ball and chase my dreams," added Littlejohn.

With Littlejohn's help, Citrus finished a historic year where it went undefeated and won the American Metro League and American Division Championships.

During his two years at Citrus, Littlejohn finished with 76 total tackles, including 48 unassisted efforts, three interceptions – including one pick-six – and 16 breakups. He leaves Citrus ranking in multiple categories in the record book, including third for most breakups in a career, sixth for most breakups in a season, and 10th for most unassisted tackles in a career.
