Citrus College's Adam Urena was named a 2023 NATYCAA Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention for his accomplishments both in the classroom and on the football field.

To be considered, student-athletes must boast at least a 3.6 GPA, possess outstanding qualities of leadership and citizenship, and have outstanding athletic success after participating in a minimum of one season.

Academically, Urena was named to the President's List in the Spring of 2021 and Dean's List in the Fall of 2021 and Spring of 2022. He was a three-time Scholar Baller (2020, 2021, 2022) and earned CCCFCA Academic All-State honors this past fall.

Athletically, the sophomore quarterback left his mark on the Owl program, breaking multiple records this past season. Urena broke three Citrus records this past season: single-game passing touchdowns (six), single-season passing touchdowns (33), and career passing touchdowns (57). He ranked in multiple statistical categories in the State, including second in passing touchdowns, third with 268.3 passing yards per game, third with 213 completions, and fourth with 172.9 passing efficiency.

Urena was a two-time All-American Metro League first-team honoree and picked up first-team All-State Region IV honors this year after leading the Owls to their best-ever finish with a perfect 11-0 record and an AML Championship and American Division Championship.
