No. 14-ranked Citrus College struck first and held on for a 48-34 victory over Long Beach City College Saturday afternoon.
The Owls improve to 7-3 overall and finish their first season in the National-Central League with a 4-3 mark. The Vikings drop to 4-6 on the year and 3-4 in conference.
As a team, Citrus finished with 493 total offensive yards, including 225 yards passing and 268 yards rushing.
Koy Riggin was 17-for-27 with two touchdown passes, both of which were to Donovan Zackery. Kannon Katzer had 11 carries for 129 yards and ran in three touchdowns, while Tayvonne Miller had 23 carries for 149 yards and scored one touchdown.
Brayden Austin also scored a touchdown for the Owls on special teams, returning a kickoff for 92 yards in the first quarter.
Defensively, Chandler Carthan had nine tackles and two breakups, while Hunter Corbin finished with seven tackles and an interception. Yilias Wallace and Drew Merrill also had interceptions for the Owls, with Merrill's coming up big late in the fourth quarter for a 15-yard return to all but seal the victory for the home team.
Citrus will wait to find out its bowl game fate later this weekend.
