Carthan Grabs All-Region III Defensive Honors
Citrus College's Chandler Carthan was named to the All-California Region III Defensive First Team after a stellar sophomore campaign.
The Owls' linebacker and punter set new program records for most tackles in a single season with 131 tackles and the highest punt average in a season at 38.8 yards per punt.
Carthan finished the year with 80 solo tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and three sacks. He also had one fumble recovery, two interceptions, and three breakups on the year. It led to Carthan grabbing two all-conference honors – first team as a linebacker and second team as a punter – and he earned SCFA Player of the Week honors twice – once as Defensive Player of the Week and once as the Special Teams/All-Purpose Player of the Week.
