Owls Close Season Against Vikings

Citrus College Football finished their 2024 season on the road against the Long Beach City College Vikings resulting in a 17-14 loss.
The Owls will finish the season at 5-5 overall and 3-4 overall. Long Beach City College ends thier regular season at 6-4 overall.
In a defensive game the Owls held a 7-3 lead at halftime after the Citrus defense blocked a field goal attempt from LBCC and put together a 67-yard drive, capped by a 6-yard Jake Denerson touchdown pass to Ridge Christlieb.
The Vikings scored on the first drive of the second half to go up 10-7, scoring again late in the third quarter to go up 17-7. The Owls second score of the game came from a Hakim Haliburton 7-yard run to get within three points as the score was 17-14 going into the fourth quarter. Citrus was unable to score again in the fourth quarter although getting into Vikings' territory on thier final drive of the game.
The Owls were led by Jake Denerson who threw for 128 yards and one touchdown. Jake Denerson led the Owls with 65 rushing yards followed by Jamahl Wilson with 59 rushing yards and Hakim Haliburton who rushed for 51 yards. Sean Persson led Citrus in receiving with 43 yards on three receptions while Julian Borrayo had 20 yards on his two catches.
The Owls' defense was led by Philip Bangura with 14 total tackles. Kyle Ferm recorded eight total tackles, one sack and one tackle for loss. Keenan Eck had five tackles, one sack and one tackle for loss.
Damond Stewart had two pass breakups while Philip Bangura, Donovan Perez, Matt Casey, Mikahi Dunn and Kam Forest all recorded one pass breakup.
Citrus College will look ahead to 2025 with hopes of getting back to the postseason.
