Bakersfield, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Basketball team, overcame a terrible start and pulled out a big WSC South road win on Wednesday night. After mustering just, 29 points in the first half, the Owls out scored their opponent by 20 in the second half en route to a 70-61 win over Bakersfield College.

The Owls fell into an early hole Wednesday, as the Renegades jumper out to an early double-digit lead. Citrus got it back down to single digits shortly 3/4 way through the first half, but Bakersfield seemingly went into the break with a comfortable lead up 40-29.

In the second half, Citrus rallied. Led by sophomore Brent Watkins, who had his best game since returning from injury, and his 23 points and 9 boards, the Owls out scored Bakersfield 41-21 in the second half. Sophomore Kerry Carter added 20 and seven as Citrus moves to three games over .500 for the first time and have now won five of their last six.

With the win, Citrus improves to 10-7 on the year and 3-1 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back at home on Saturday when they host Santa Monica College in another conference tilt. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM.
