Reyes Named CCCAA Male Athlete of the Month

Glendora, CA -- Citrus College freshman Men's Basketball player Chris Reyes was named the California Community College Sports Information Association California Community College Athletic Association Male State Athlete of the Month for his play in January. Reyes is just the third Owl in the awards history to win the award.

In the month of January Reyes was dominant, in helping the Owls to a 5-2 record. Reyes averaging 19.6 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 4.9 blocks a game. Against Santa Monica, Reyes had arguably his best game with 23 points and program record 24 rebounds, and six blocks. Reyes had a double-double in six of Citrus' seven contests on the month. In the one game he didn't get the double-double, Reyes had 21 points and nine blocks, the nine blocks being a single game program record.

On the year, Reyes is 22nd in the State in scoring, 12th in the State in field goal percentage, 2nd in the State in rebounding, and 1st in the State in blocks. Reyes hails from La Verne, California where he attended Damien High School. Reyes and the rest of the Owls will be on the floor tonight for Citrus' final regular season contest of the 2013-2014 season when they host West Los Angeles College at 7:00 PM.
