Reyes Leads Post-Season Awards Charge; Three Other Owls Named All-Conference

Glendora, CA -- The 2014 California Community College Athletic Association and Western State Conference Post-Season Awards have been announced, and Citrus freshman Chris Reyes led the charge. Reyes was named the WSC South Most Valuable Player and also was named a 1st team All-State selection.

Reyes took the Western State Conference by storm leading the entire WSC in blocks (3.7 bpg), rebounds (12.0 rpg), and field goal percentage (59.7%). He also finished third overall in scoring (18.7 ppg). Reyes posted a double-double in eight of the twelve conference contests, and posted season highs of rebounds (24 vs Santa Monica), blocks (9 at Bakersfield), and points (28 at Antelope Valley) all throughout the course of conference play.

Freshman Justin Childress and sophomore Daniel Cheek were named a 1st team All-WSC South selection. Childress averaged 9.5 points a game, and a team leading 3.1 assists per contest during the 2013-2014 season. He converted 40.8% of his shots from the floor and 33.3% of his shots from beyond the 3-point arc, while being second on the team with a 74.3% free-throw shooting percentage. Cheek was Citrus' second leading scorer on the year, averaging 12.5 points per game. Cheek shot 40.3% from the floor and 33.8% from three, and was second on the team with a 4.3 rebounds per game average.

In addition to Childress and Cheek, freshman Jordan Jefferson was an All-WSC South Honorable Mention honoree. Jefferson had a solid freshman campaign, averaging 5.8 points on 44.1% shooting from the floor. Jefferson was one of the Owls' best defensive players, leading the team in steals, averaging 1.6 steals a game.
