Glendora, CA -- Citrus College sophomore Chris Reyes, who was named an All-State Selection and the Western State Conference South Division Player of the Year in his one season with the Owls, has signed a scholarship offer to go to the PAC-12 with the University of Utah.

"The family atmosphere at Utah and the support system they have in place academically was the biggest motivating factor for me," Reyes said. "I had developed a relationship with the staff out of high school, and now it felt like the best fit."

In his one season with the Owls, Reyes was a dominant force, and staked his claim as arguably the best big man in Citrus history. Reyes lead the entire WSC in blocks (3.7 bpg), rebounds (12.0 rpg), and field goal percentage (59.7%). He also finished third overall in scoring (18.7 ppg). Reyes posted a double-double in eight of the twelve conference contests, and posted season highs of rebounds (24 vs Santa Monica), blocks (9 at Bakersfield), and points (28 at Antelope Valley) all throughout the course of conference play.

"Citrus allowed me the chance to get back into game shape, and provided me a lot of support academically, and now I'm in a position to succeed in that area," Reyes said. "It's been a good experience for me."

"We are extremely proud of Chris and what he was able to accomplish in his one year as an Owl," said Citrus College Head Men's Basketball Coach Chris Victor. "The season he had rivals the best in the programs' history – but his best basketball is still ahead of him.  It will be great watching him compete at Utah for the next three years."
